Rein SchiltzJune 8, 1925 - Oct. 23, 2013Rein R Schlitz Died October 23 at the age of 88. He was a lifelong resident of Birmingham. He bravely fought for his country In the U.S. Navy, immediately upon graduating from Woodlawn high school. He was awarded several Distinguished service medals Including the Purple Heart For his service in World War II. He Graduated from Auburn University as an electrical engineer Where he was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity. He returned to Birmingham for business Where he married his life long love Linda Jean Self. They raised four children in the Roebuck area . He was Employed at Anderson electric in Leeds. He was a lifelong member of St. John's Evangelical Church ,Which later became Brook Highland community church. He is Proceeded in death by His parents Rudolph R And Meta Schlitz. His wife Linda Schlitz, And son Richard Schlitz. He is survived by his son Rudy Schlitz ,Randy Schlitz, and a daughter Susan Strom (Phil) Of Duneden Fl. Visitation for Mr. Schlitz will be Tuesday night October 29, 2013 from 5 to 7PM at Jefferson Memorial funeral home in Trussville. A graveside service will be held at The Jefferson Memorial Cemetery on Wednesday October 30, 2013 At 11 AM. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
