Becki J. Conway

Rebecca  Jane Conway affectionately known as Becki, passed away on November 9, 2023, leaving behind an incredible legacy of love and kindness. Born on February 7, 1947, Becki lived a life filled with compassion, dedication, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends.

Becki dedicated over 30 years of her life to Jefferson State before retiring. Her commitment to her career was evident in the passion she brought to her work every day. She strived for excellence and was respected not only by her colleagues but also by all those whose lives she touched throughout her remarkable journey.

 Family meant everything to Becki, and she loved hers tremendously. Her unconditional love and support were a constant source of strength for all who knew her. Whether it was attending family gatherings or simply being there for a heartfelt conversation, Becki always prioritized nurturing these cherished relationships.

Not only did Becki have a profound love for her family, but she also cared deeply for her friends.  Becki's compassion knew no bounds as she selflessly dedicated herself to be a source of comfort and support during times of joy and sorrow.

She was preceded in death by her parents, O'dell Shipman and Virginia Ryan Cook.

Becki leaves behind her loving husband of 52 years Doyle Conway, they were high school sweethearts that met in elementary school; sons, Christopher Todd Conway (Shannon), Jeffrey Seth Conway (Jennifer), brother Ryan O'dell Shipman; grandchildren, Caden and Kiley Conway, Cole Kiley, Ella and Courtland Deneke.

In lieu of flowers family request memorial contributions to be made to The Burkett Center at Jefferson County Schools Education Foundation, Attn: Adapted PE 2100 18th St South, Birmingham, AL 35209.

To celebrate Becki's life and honor her memory, visitation will be held on Monday, November 13, 2023 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home in Trussville. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 14 at 12:00 pm at Jefferson Memorial Gardens. Friends and family are welcome to fellowship at the funeral home before processing to the graveside.
