Reba McFerrin Belding, age 98, of Oneonta, passed away July 21, 2011. She was retired after 32 years as a 2nd grade school teacher at the Rock School in Center Point. She was a volunteer at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens, member of the Day Lily Society, Rockhound Roundup in the Alabama Mineral and Lapidary Society and a member of Taylor Memorial United Methodist Church. Mrs. Belding was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Belding, 3 brothers and 4 sisters. Graveside services will be on Saturday July 23, at 2pm with burial in Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. Visitation will be from 1 until 2pm Saturday. She is survived by her son James (Debbi) Belding, grandsons Ralph Wallace (Laura) Belding II, James Edward (Stacy) Belding Jr., Randall Derek (Kelly) Akers, Michael Cameron (Alaina) Akers, 7 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at TLC Nursing Center for their care of Mrs. Belding. Memorials may be made to Taylor Memorial UMC. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
