R.C. Pritchett was born September 30, 1926 and passed away on April 1, 2020. He was 93. He was preceded in death by his wife of 30 years, Ernestine Elsie (Biser) Pritchett in 1982, his daughter, Donna Starr Pritchett in 2003 and a grandson, Grant Allen Pritchett in 1987, His is survived by his daughter, Judy Rose (Pritchett) Danford (husband Bob Danford) from Denver, Colorado and his son, Larry Dale Pritchett (wife Vicki (Witham) Pritchett) from Duncanville, AL., 4 grandchildren, Bret Pritchett, Laura Lytle (husband Brad), Scott Danford (wife Theresa), David Danford (wife Shenney) and 3 great-grandchildren, Bobby Danford, Maryann Danford and Sabrina Danford.
He was raised during the Great Depression by his mother, who raised 12 children. He joined the Navy in 1945 and served during World War II and the Korean War with a break in service between the wars.. He received a disability discharge in 1955. He worked for the US Post Office and retired in April 1978. He went on to various handyman jobs obtaining his Journeyman Electricians license and a certification for appliance repair. He played softball and basketball with his church team into his 70's. He liked to garden. He played tennis until his late 80's and loved to dance until shortly before his death.
He was baptized into the Radio Church of God in 1961 which later became known as Worldwide Church of God and then United Church of God.
We are not able to hold a funeral service at this time, but he will be remembered. We will plan a memorial at a later date.
