Raymond Sewell

Raymond H. Sewell, Sr. "Ray", 62 of Irondale passed away on January 11, 2012. He was a loving, devoted husband, father and grandfather of six granddaughters. Ray had worked for Operating Engineers local 312 in Bessemer for 19 years and then opened Sewell Loader and Dozer Service in 1990 and retired in 2002. He was also a member of Masonic lodge 338 in Trussville. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arcie Lee and Juanita Sewell and his brother, Ronnie Sewell. Survivors include his loving wife of 42 years, Ann Sewell; children, Pam Ryan (Jeff) of Ohatchee AL, Angela Bryant (Kermit) of Springville AL and Raymond H. Sewell, Jr. (Beth) of Trussville AL; brother, Buddy Sewell (Judy) of Trussville AL; six granddaughters, Elisa, Kayla, Emma, Clara, Madeline and Kate. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 14 beginning at 11:00 AM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home with Chapel Services starting at 12:00 PM with Bro. Darryl Hammonds officiating and burial to follow in Forest Crest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the Arthritis Foundation.
