Raymond Mckinnon

Raymond A. McKinnon, Sr. went to be with The Lord on Sunday, September 13, 2020 at age 91.  Raymond was born to John McKinnon and Lillian Harris McKinnon July 28, 1929.  He married Betty June Chappell June 1, 1957.  Raymond and Betty lived many years in Pinson, AL where they raised their family.  Later, after retirement, they moved to Springville, AL. Raymond is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Betty McKinnon, children Raymond McKinnon, Jr. (Susan), Anita Wilson, Robert McKinnon,  Lillian Bromley (Tim), and Kevin McKinnon (Terra); grandchildren Jennifer Derrick (Don), Jessica McKinnon, Rebecca McKinnon, Michael Wilson, Stephanie McKinnon, Malorie McKinnon, Justin Bromley, Austin Bromley, Katelyn McKinnon, Jase McKinnon, Jacob Smith, Summer Smith and Cadence Smith; great-grandchildren Katelyn, Sarah, Ryan and Aubrey. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents John McKinnon and Lillian McKinnon; his siblings Clyde Pugh, Luverne Mattil and Nell Lindsay; his son John McKinnon and daughter Christina McKinnon. Raymond graduated from Friendsville Academy in Friendsville, Tennessee on May 26, 1949. He then honorably served his country in the U. S. Navy from March 6, 1950 to January 12, 1954. After completing his service, Raymond proceeded to work as a Technical Writer for Hayes Aircraft Corporation which later became PEMCO. He completed his career with PEMCO after 39 years in 1993. Raymond was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, a devout Christian and follower of the Lord.  He will be dearly missed. Services will be held at Jefferson Memorial in Trussville, AL.  Visitation will be Friday, September 18, 2020 at 11:00am; funeral services to follow.
