Raymond Neal Coker

Raymond Neal Coker (Papa), age 85 was born on August 19, 1939 and died peacefully in his sleep on March 14, 2025. He was a devoted husband to his wife Judy of 64 years. He was also a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. 

He was a longtime active member of First Baptist Church of Chalkville. He took retirement from Southern Research Institute after 33 years and Battelle after 10 years. He also served on the Trussville City Council in the early nineties. He loved his community and spent his later years enjoying the Trussville Senior Center. He will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family and friends and always lending a helping hand to those in need. 

He is survived by his daughter, Susan Mann (Ken), grandchildren, Katie Foshee (Nathan) and Austin Mann (Tessa), great grandchildren, Lilah Grace and Noah Foshee as well as two nieces and one nephew. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Judy Perkins Coker, parents, Luther and Vera Coker, brothers Ralph and Ray Coker and sister Dorothy Alkire. 

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2025. Visitation at 9:00 with funeral service at 10:00 at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home and Gardens Trussville. Pastor Bill Wilks officiating. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day.” 2 Timothy 4:7-8
