Ray Franklin Hereford was born in McCalla AL on December 6, 1933 to Joe G. & Lucille Hereford. He attended McAdory High School. After growing up on the family dairy farm, Ray served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. He is survived by his wife Shirley, son John Hereford (Shelley) (Laura), granddaughter Natasha Brooker (Colt), great grandson Wyatt and sister Mikki Bond. He was preceded in death by his father Joe, mother Lucille, two brothers Joe Guy, Bobby and sister Linda. Ray spent most of his life in the food business with 3 restaurants in Jefferson County and 1 in Cullman, AL. After retiring he moved to Shelby County where he lived the remainder of his life. He enjoyed travel and most of all his family, son and grandchildren. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pelham. He will be buried at the National Cemetery, Montevallo, AL with a graveside service will be held at 2:45pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the alkidney.org in Ray Franklin Hereford's name.
