Randall Bruce Simpkins "Randy", 63 of Birmingham, Alabama went home to be with his Lord and Savior on October 13, 2014. He was born on May 10, 1951 to Frank and Louise Simpkins, and graduated from Phillips High School. He married his love, Vickie Simpkins and went on to honorably serve his country during Vietnam. He was proud of being a United States Marine. Randy retired for Norfork Southern after 40 years, he was very active with his local UTU, and was a dedicated member of Hilldale Baptist church for 30 years. Randy worked tirelessly as a deacon, member of the kitchen crew, usher, Sunday school teacher, and inspired others on his mission trips to Belize, Nicaragua and New York. He was also well known for his hard work in his community. He was preceded in death by his parents (Frank and Louise) and his sister (Donna Nall). He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Vickie Leslie Simpkins; son Bruce Simpkins (Heather); daughter Jennifer Dussich (George); his three "sunshines": Georgia, Taylor Anne and Delilah. He leaves behind one brother Terry Simpkins (Theresa); a beloved sister in law, Jerri Dale Eastis, and many others that were very dear to his heart. Randy was loved by many, and his family and friends will miss him dearly. He was a devoted husband, loving father, wonderful grandfather, giving friend and an amazing man. Visitation will be held at Jefferson Memorial on Wednesday, October 15 from 12:00 to 2:00 and the funeral service will be held following the visitation at 2:00.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ALS Association, Alabama Chapter.
