Phyllis Watkins

Phyllis M. Watkins, passed away in Birmingham, AL on February 18, 2012 at the age of 87. She was born in Cheboygan, MI on June 16, 1924 and raised in Pensacola, FL where she grew up and met her late husband, Hoyt C. "Jerry" Watkins. She was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church. Phyllis enjoyed various activities with her friends including playing golf and bridge. She is preceded in death by her grandson, Brandon Luster. She is survived by her sons, David Carl Watkins, Randall Phillip Watkins (Donna), and Jerry Wayne Watkins (Jane); 6 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 20, 2012 from 6-8PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at 3:00pm at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer's of Central Alabama www.alzca.org. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at St. Martin's in the Pines- Evergreen Unit and Nancy DuBoise with New Beacon Hospice for their love and care for Mrs. Watkins.
