Perrilynn Franks

Perrilynn (Perry) McKay Franks, 86 of Alabaster passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2008. Perry was a member of Rock United Methodist Church in Tarrant for 57 years working in the nursery for 52 years. After moving to Alabaster she joined the Helena United Methodist Church where she has been a member for the past 5 years. She worked in retail for 32 years. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 21 from 6:00- 8:00PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home with Chapel services to be held on Wednesday at 12PM with Pastor Mike Edmondson officiating and burial in Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. Perry was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Myrtie McKay and her husband, Horashel "Shorty" Franks, her siblings, Virginia Estill, Mary Lee Franks, Robbie Wright, Sally Whisenant, infant son, James Roy Franks, one son, Joe Ronald "Monk" Franks and one son-in-law, Rev. Marcus Chandler. Survivors include her two daughters, Bonnie Franks Chandler of Monroeville and Janet Franks Thomas (Eddie) of Alabaster; one sister, Francis McKay Harden of Moline, IL; one brother, Tommy McKay (Pat) of Amarillo, TX; one brother-in-law, J.D. Franks of Guin; grandchildren, Bruce Franks (Kelley), Robin Scruggs (Will), Doug Chandler (Julie), Dana Brewer Jones (Jeff), Stacey Holland (Jay), Scott Thomas (Megan), Kelli Cobb (Brian); great-grandchildren, Adam, Emily, Tyler, Hannah, Chase, Maggie, Chandler, Harrison, Jackson, Tommy, Corbin, Keegan, Mason, Sophie, Alex, Morgan, Emma and Jake.
