Paula Gladney

Paula Ballew Gladney was born in Austin, Texas on January 11, 1957, to Sam and Marie Ballew, she was their second of four daughters. Paula was always an adventuresome spirit and had a real zeal for life. She was always very active and enjoyed sports and served as Drum Major of Altus High School. Paula received her BSN from Texas Tech Health Sciences Center and that career choice catapulted her to Birmingham, AL where she met and fell in love with her husband, James Gladney. They enjoyed 24 years of marriage. A breast cancer survivor, Paula succumbed to a battle with leukemia on Easter Sunday. Paula is survived by her husband, Jim Gladney , daughter Holly Posey, grandsons Marcus and Alex Posey all of Trussville, AL and sisters Susan Ballew of Dallas, Bitsy Ballew and Lainney Smith and her husband Dean of OKC and a niece Ashley Smith and nephew Austin Smith currently at OSU. Paula was loved by many and her passing has broken many hearts. She requested no service, but instead a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
