Paul Wayne Pannell (64), of Clay, Alabama, was born in Colombus, Mississippi on September 11, 1956; and unexpectedly passed away due to a heart attack on August 24, 2021. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents Charles D. Pannell and Mary Katherine Sansing Crowe; his brother Jeffrey Charles Pannell, his sister Deborah Pannell, and his nephew Jeffrey Pannell. He is survived by his wife Kathy Bell Pannell; his daughters Haili King (Jack) and Raegan Keithley (Dustin); his grandchildren Jack King IV and Hazel Elizabeth Bell; as well as his brothers Kenneth; Steve, Dale, Jerry, sister, April and many nieces and nephews. Wayne was a very successful businessman as a locksmith and a car salesman. He owned Ace Lock & Key for over 30 years. He took great pride in his work, but even more so in the relationships he made over the years. We couldn’t go anywhere without seeing several people he knew, even out of state. He knew everyone and he was so very loved by many. He also loved God and a good T-bone steak from Longhorn. He cherished his family so much and loved well. He was the most wonderful husband, father and “Paw Paw”ever. He had the biggest heart made of gold. If you were blessed enough to know him you knew that he would give you the shirt off of his back. He was truly one of a kind. There will never be another Wayne. Wayne will be laid to rest on Thursday September 2 at Jefferson Memorial in Trussville. Viewing will be held at 1:00 pm with service to follow at 2:00.
