Patricia Burson

June 18, 1943 — January 28, 2024

Patricia Annette (Williams) Burson was born June 18, 1943 and passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 28, 2024. She is preceded in death by her parents AJ Williams and Edna (Walker) Williams Kent of Birmingham AL, and her husband Alvin John Burson of Gadsden, AL. She leaves behind sisters Edna (Williams) Caudle [David] of Smokerise, AL and Kathy Williams [Brian] of Ellijay, GA. She is also survived by her 3 daughters Teresa (Clements) Trucks [Gary] of Guilford, CT, Tanya Clements of Birmingham, AL, and Joy Burson Teare [Christopher] of Bartlesville, OK along with 4 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Tricia (as she preferred to be called) dedicated her life to helping others and spent her professional career as a nurse at Brookwood Hospital where she shared her kindness, generosity, compassion, and empathy with her patients and their families. She and Al then started and ran several small businesses together throughout their nearly 30 years of marriage. She was a former Master Gardener and always enjoyed being surrounded by beautiful flowers. She was an avid reader, amazing cook, skilled seamstress, and quilter. Tricia was a life-long resident of the Birmingham metro area and in her retirement years enjoyed playing scrabble with her friends at Episcopal Place. For the last 12 years she was a resident of Episcopal Place, so the family kindly requests donations to that facility in Tricia's name in lieu of any flowers. Memorial service to be held at Episcopal Place for the residents and friends on 2/1/2024 at 1pm. She will be laid to rest at the National Cemetery in Montevallo, AL with her husband Al at a later date.
