Surrounded by family, Norman Tomlin Lake of Gardendale, Alabama passed away Thursday, November 12, 2015. Norman was born in Birmingham, Alabama on September 25, 1937 and grew up in Tarrant, Alabama and graduated from Tarrant High School. Norman worked for Clow Corporation for twenty-five years before starting his own business, Lake Painting and Decorating. Norman was a member of Gardendale Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church and the Ambassador Sunday School Class. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Inez Lake and his brother, Charles Lake, Jr. He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, who was his high school sweetheart, Anita Moore Lake, children, Cindy Lake and Todd Lake (Karen) and grandchildren, Alexis, Leanna and David Lake and God child, Christy Bischoff. Sisters and brothers-in-law, Bette Hines, Bob and Connie Doekel, Sandy and Carolyn Moore, Roger Moore and Jean Lake. Nieces and nephews, Paula Rinehart, Sherry Sublet, Chuck Hines, David Tompkins, Cary Tompkins (Cindy), Kimberly Moore, Lance Moore, Anna Moore, Clayton Moore and great nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. Visitation will be on Sunday, November 15, 2015 from noon to 2 PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. The services will follow in the chapel. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens. Rev. Mike Pope will be officiating over the services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Gardendale Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
