Carlisle, Norman Ed, age 88, a lifetime resident of Jefferson County, resided in Chalkville Al, most of his life died February 27, 2010. He was a member of Roebuck Parkway Church of Christ. He is preceded in death by his wife of 66 years Hazel Banks Carlisle, and brother Van Huey Carlisle. He served in the U.S. Air Corps in the South Pacific Theater, as a Flight Engineer Gunner, with 42 missions to his credit. He was awarded several medals. Norman retired from Stockham Valve and Fittings, after 36 years of service. He was active in the American Contract Bridge League for several years. He was a Certified Bridge Teacher, and Bridge Director. He served as President of Alabama Bridge Association one term. Services will be held at Jefferson Memorial Trussville on Wednesday at 2pm with Dr. Jerry Jenkins officiating. Visitation will be from 1 until 2pm on Wednesday. Burial will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. He is survived by his daughter Jackie C. Burkett, grandchildren Jay Douglas (Kathy) Burkett, Norman Ray (Charlotte), great grandson Brian Douglas Burkett, Christopher Neil Burkett, Katie Nicole Burkett, Adam Tyler Burkett, great-great grandson Gage Michael, sisters Louise Rodgers and Mary Seale, brother Joe L. Carlisle. It is requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to Roebuck Parkway Church of Christ 400 Roebuck Parkway, Birmingham AL 35206. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing
