Neva Thornton

Neva Jean Thornton went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 28, 2014. Jean was born in Lafayette, Alabama on February 12, 1938, graduated from the University of Alabama with a degree in Nursing in May, 1959, and was married on October 18, 1959. She is survived by her husband of 55 years Dewey Thornton, son Chris Thornton, daughter Kelly Kesler, granddaughters Ashley-Kate and Jordan Kesler, sisters Colleen Lyle and Deborah Barber, and brother Kenneth Barber. She is preceded in death by her parents Wheeler and Louise Barber. A visitation will be held at Jefferson Memorial Trussville at 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 31m 2014 with a funeral service at 12:00PM, burial to follow. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be sent to St. Vincent's Hospital Foundation in her name or The Gideions International Birmingham Northeast Camp P.O. Box 640489 Birmingham, AL., 35261. Jefferson Memorial Trussville will be directing.
