Nelson Byess

Nelson D. Byess, age 68 of Gallant, AL passed away on January 11, 2016. Mr. Byess was retired after 25 years with Trussville Police Department and 10 years with Jefferson County Sheriff's office. Mr. Byess was preceded in death by his mother, Willie Mae Byess Averett, father, George S. Byess, brother, Curtis Byess and sisters, Kathy Shauer and Lee Farley. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mary Weems Byess; daughters, Lenette Harrell and Wendy Chapman Lane (Steven); son, Chad Byess (Tammy); brother, Heath Byess (Lesa); grandchildren, George Byess, Anthony Chapman, Christine Chapman Morrow (Brett), Allen and James Harrell, Tyler, Dylan and Jillian Byess and Douglas Lane; great grandchildren, Jasmine, Landon, Haven, Kynley Morrow, Mackenzie, George Jr. and Rhian Byess and Colton Chapman. Services will be on Friday, January 15, 2016 at 2 PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be an hour prior to services. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
