Neal Austin Boozer passed away March 7, 2018 at the age of 87 to be with his Heavenly Father while surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his father Roland Boozer and mother Emma Rebecca Boozer; three brothers, Hollis Boozer, Richard Boozer, and Benjamin Boozer. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Willodeen Thompson Boozer; son Stanley Boozer (Leah) of Springville, Al; son Dr. Timothy Boozer of Atlanta, GA; daughter Janet Boozer of Birmingham, Al; 5 nephews and 2 nieces. He was born on August 14, 1930 in Jacksonville, Al and graduated from Jacksonville High School and then Jacksonville State University with a BS in Chemistry and Biology. After Serving in the US Army during the Korean conflict in Italy, he returned home to continue his education at Samford University School of Pharmacy, graduating with a BS in Pharmacy. He was a former owner and pharmacist of Adamsville Pharmacy for many years then staff pharmacist at Jefferson County Health Department. He maintained his interest in medical topics long after retiring at the age of 65. He was eager to broaden his knowledge to include current day practices and was quick to initiate conversations about currant national and world affairs. He was a proud and dutiful gardener, spending countless hours maintaining the lawn. He was a member of Huffman Baptist Church in Birmingham for 46 years and enjoyed the camaraderie of his Sunday school classmates. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 12, 2018 from 11 to 12 at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. Services will follow in the chapel at 12 PM. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. Rev. Larry Smith will be officiating over the services.
