Nancy Parker

Nancy "Joy" Parker, age 52, passed away on December 22, 2012, at her home in Pinson, Alabama. She was a devout and inspirational kindergarten teacher for 25 years at Carson Road Baptist Church and Pinson First Baptist Church, where she retired in 2011. Joy was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and a wonderful, caring friend to many. She loved to travel with her friends and family, and she will be laid to rest in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, her favorite destination. Survivors include her loving husband, William "Dale" Parker of the Hoover Fire Department; her two sons, John and Andrew Parker; her brothers, Jack Wilkes (Joan), Clinton Wilkes, and Cecil "Wayne" Wilkes (Jewell); her mother, Margaret Swatzell (Richard); and many nieces, nephews, and a countless number of friends. Joy was surpassed in death by her father, Robert Comer Neal, and her sister, Cecilia Cheek. A celebration of Joy's life will be held on Saturday, December 29th at 2:00 pm at Pinson First Baptist Church, 4036 Spring Street, Pinson, Alabama 35126.
