Myrtle Petrel

M. Frances Petrel of Hoover, Alabama passed away peacefully on January 26, 2012. She was married to John "Johnny" Petrel of Center Point for 50 years before his passing in 1995. She was a creative force behind the scenes as they worked side by side in their family sporting goods business for over 25 years. She had a passion for gardening. She was an accomplished bowler, animal lover and made friends with the squirrels and a dedicated fan of Alabama football and the Atlanta Braves. She is survived by her children, Linda Raymer, Beverly Petrel, and John C. Petrel (Quintie); grandchildren, Whitley Bouler (Eric), Ashton Raymer, Brent Powell, Danielle Powell, Eric Petrel and Angela Petrel, and 5 great grandchildren. The family wants to acknowledge the Angels who helped her be at home during her final days. We are at peace knowing that she has entered God's kingdom. Visitation will be Monday, January 30, 2012 from 5-7 PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, January 31 at 10:00 AM in Jefferson Memorial Gardens East.
