Flossie Owensby

Flossie Estelle Owensby of Remlap, Alabama passed away peacefully on August 22, 2019. She was born on March 11, 1925 to C. W. and Viola Hicks. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edmond Owensby, daughters, Shirley Melvin and Barbara Armstrong and 6 brothers. She is survived by daughters, Linda Bryant (Freddy), Diane Burt (Paul), Teresa Self (Mark) and son, Ronnie Owensby (Becky). She was Big Mama to 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren. She was by definition, a virtuous woman who loved the Lord and her family with her whole heart. The family would like to express our sincere thanks to the staff of Diversacare, Oneonta for loving and caring for our mother during her stay. We also would like to thank Compassas Hospice. Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 from 12 to 2 PM at Bradford Sanctuary of Praise in Pinson, AL. Services will follow at 2 PM at the church. The burial will take place at Bethel Cemetery in Pinson.
