Morris Preston

Morris W. Preston, 58, of Childersburg Al., succumbed to cancer at his home, surrounded by his family on September 11, 2013. Morris was born August 31, 1955 in California. He attended Banks High school in Birmingham Al, served in the US Air Force, and spent his career as a master electrician. On October 6, 1972 he married his wife of 39 years, and the love of his life, Delia Beth (Sellers) Preston who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his parents Wilburn and Girlie Preston, brother Rick Preston, and grandchild Alyssa Beth Daugherty. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law April & Ray Wright; grandchildren Chris Daugherty and Joseph Daugherty; great grandchild Alyssa Grace Daugherty; and numerous longtime friends that he counted as family. Morris was passionate about music, a wonderful craftsman, and an avid outdoors man. He will be greatly missed by many. A special thanks to the nurses and staff from Comfort Care Hospice of Talladega whose compassion and kindness will never be forgotten. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 15, at 2pm with visitation one hour prior to services. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
