Monique Cordell

Monique Jeanne Jeandel Cordell, age 86 of Pinson, AL, passed away on June 24, 2012. Monique was born in Metz, France, on July 17, 1925. She met Bill, the love of her life, on a street in her hometown of Metz when Bill was in the Army during the reconstruction of France after World War II. A kind, witty, charming woman, Monique never knew a stranger and was loved by all. She was a wonderful wife, mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother who will be missed dearly. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lucien Paul Jeandel and Renee Louis Jeandel of Metz, France, and her daughter, Mary Jo Cordell. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Robert W. "Bill to family, Bob to friends" Cordell; daughter, Karen Jean Williams and son-in-law, Rod Williams of Sammamish, WA; grandchildren, Andrea Jeanne Williams of McKinney, TX and Amy Ruth Williams of Houston, TX; sister, Josette Zeman of Paris, France; two nephews and many great nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Thursday, June 28, 2012, from 5 to 7PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. Services will be on Friday at 2 PM at Jefferson Memorial. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
