Mildred Parker

Mildred Hollingsworth Parker, age 95, formerly Center Point of, AL passed away on November 10, 2017. Services will be held Monday, November 13th at 10:00 a.m. at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service with the committal service to follow at Jefferson Memorial's adjoining gardens. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ira G. Parker; sisters, Doris Jenkins and Peggy Blake; parents, Charles and Clara Hollingsworth. She is survived by her children, Patti Lawson (Doug), James Parker "Jim" and Richard (Faye); five grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. Mildred Parker influenced many young people in her thirty years of teaching Kindergarten. She established a thriving kindergarten in her home; with the skills she had developed she later began Center Point Methodist Kindergarten. She also taught Sunday school for many years at Center Point Methodist where she was a charter member. After retirement she became involved in the Good Samaritan Sunday School class for many years. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to your favorite charity.
