Mildred “Celia” Moman, age 93, of Vestavia, passed away Sunday, May 30, 2021 at her home.
Celia is survived by her husband, Emmett Moman, Jr. and her brother, Raymond Paul Taylor, of Gardendale. Emmett’s children: Jeffery (Linda Jo) Moman, Johnny (Linda) Moman, Licia (Johnny) Melvin. Celia’s nieces: Myra (Darwin) Kelly, Pam (Jerry) Roth and Teresa Gamblin Pruitt. Her nephews: Douglas (Cindy) Gamblin and Gregory Taylor. Loving caregiver/chosen granddaughter, Paige (Alonso) Romero. Celia was preceded in death by her brother, Alton Taylor, mother, Mary Etta Brassfield Taylor, father, John Raymond Taylor, her sister, Ruth Taylor Gamblin, late husband, Michael Eugene Stephens and their children: daughter, Beverly Stephens Bridges, and son, Michael Alan Stephens. She was a faithful member of Metro Church of God. Celia enjoyed cooking, gardening, restoring antiques, sewing and she had a special love for animals; especially her dog, Tina. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 2, 2:00p.m. at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Trussville. Our heartfelt appreciation to Pastor Harold Kelly for his love, friendship and spiritual care and guidance for Celia & our entire family. A special thank you to Anita Braswell and staff of Nora’s Angels and to Jess Summerlin and staff with Southern Care New Beacon Hospice for their special care & support.
