Michael Wesley Hosey, 27 of Puyallup, WA passed away on September 17, 2011 in Uruzgan Province, Afghanistan while serving as Intelligence Specialist with the US Army. Michael was born in Birmingham AL, a 2001 graduate of Clay-Chalkville High School and was a member of Champions Centre in Tacoma. SSG Michael W. Hosey served two tours of duty in Iraq and two tours of duty in Afghanistan. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, The Meritorious Service Medal and The Purple Heart for his actions in combat. Survivors include his parents, Michael F. and Condi Hosey; sister, Laurie H. Brookshire; SOT-A team members, SFC Michael Erb, SSG Adam Clements, SGT Josh Martinez and SGT Zane Coppedge. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 27, 2011 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. Chapel services will be on Wednesday, September 28 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Joe Mills and Chaplain Bailey officiating. Burial will follow with full military honors in the Garden of Freedom at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. Donations may be made to USO. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
