Meredith Maddox

Meredith LeAnn Maddox, 37, of Birmingham, Alabama, passed away on March 31, 2015.Meredith was born in Birmingham on August 26, 1977. She graduated from Briarwood Christian School and Samford University receiving a Bachelor of Science degree.She was a member of the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority and the Samford University Track Team. She received a Master of Education degree from The University of Alabama at Birmingham. Meredith worked as a track and field coach for Hoover High School for the past 11 years. Meredith loved being coach, teacher and mentor to her athletes. She started her own handmade Jewelry company named Designs by LIFE where she shared her talent with others. Meredith enjoyed playing with her nephew, Elon and spending time with family. She will be missed by many but there is peace and joy that surpasses all, in the love and presence of the Almighty God our Father. Meredith is survived by her loving parents Elon W. and Pamela T. Maddox, Jr. brother Elon W. (Jacqueline) Maddox III and Grandparents Elon W. Maddox, Sr. and Winnie and Ray Gene Terry, nephew Elon W. Maddox, IV, and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. Meredith is preceded in death by her grandmother, Bernice Vaughan Maddox and nephew Deacon Wesley Maddox. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am at Double Oak Community Church on Monday, April 6, 2015, with Pastor Adam Robinson and Pastor Rick Ousley officiating. Visitation will be held at 10:00 am. The family requests donations in lieu of flowers be made to the Greater Birmingham Auburn Club Donor Society.
