Matthew Scott Allison, 57, was called home to be with the Lord on May 19, 2016. Scott was a kind and gentle man who cared for others and dedicated his life to Christ, his family and America. His passion for Alabama football was legendary and he never missed a game. He could always be found at the A Club before a game visiting with teammates and coaches. He was born and raised in Florida where he attended Astronaut High School. He earned a full football scholarship to the University of Alabama and was a three-year letterman for the legendary Coach Paul "Bear" Bryant, proudly wearing his 1978 and 1979 National Championship rings. He was enshrined as a member of the Astronaut High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 2001. Scott attended and graduated from Regent University School of Law in 1998 and was admitted to practice law in Florida the same year. In 2008 he was admitted to practice law in the State of Alabama. Scott was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Trussville. Visitation will be Sunday May 22, 2016 from 12:30-2:00pm at Jefferson Memorial Gardens Trussville with services to follow. Pastor Roger Crew presiding. Reception and fellowship to will be at the First Baptist Church of Trussville. Scott was predeceased by his Mother- Alyce Joyce Mixon Allison - and is survived by his wife Ellen and daughter Kim, for whom death cannot sever the ties that bind. He is also survived by his father Jimmy, sister Laura, brothers Mark and Brian and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Pallbearers include: Mark Nix, Vince Cowell, Joey Robbins, Bill Searcey, Eddie McComb, Mark Allison, Brian Allison, Shayne Adair, Loren Vickrey, Jay Grogan and J.R. White. Gone, beloved brother, father, husband, uncle, cousin and friend. Gone to rest. Away from sorrow, care and pain; may you rest in peace until we meet again.
