ALLISON, MARTHA SHERRILL BETTENTON Born June 24, 1942 went to see her Lord and Savior on May 26, 2011. She is survived by her husband of fifty years, Charles William Allison; children Eric Preston Allison (Joyce) and Eva Allison Pendleton (Les); grandchildren Connor and Allison Pendleton; sisters-in-law Naomi Betterton and Brenda Allison; and a host of nephews, nieces, and cousins. During her high school years at Woodlawn, Martha was a member of the Caroliers, Girls' Glee Club, and Orchestra. Martha was a music major (cello) at Howard College, now Samford University. She was a member of the Samford Auxillary, Women Missionary Union (WMU), an avid Sunday School teacher and a member at Dawson Memorial Baptist Church. Martha was an executive assistant during the time she lived in Mobile and then again after she and Charlie moved back to Birmingham. After retirement, Martha was known as the "Flag Lady" realtor in the Birmingham area. Her love for her family was deeply rooted in her faith in Christ. She will be missed by all that knew her. Visitation will be at Jefferson Memorial in Trussville, Saturday, May 28th, 2011 from 8:30-10:00 with a chapel service and graveside burial immediately following.
