Mary Jo Pyle Marlowe, known as Babs, went to be with the Lord on January 29, 2021. She was 85. Mary was born on March 3, 1935 in Birmingham, Alabama to Mary Josie Ogles Pyle and Robert Luster Pyle. Throughout her life, Mary had an amazing work ethic. She spent 20 plus years in banking as a head teller. She started her banking career at AmSouth that later became Regions Bank. She won multiple banking awards throughout her career. After retiring at age 70 she continued to work part time. She loved her job and excelled at it. She was a strong and independent woman who raised 4 kids on her own. Mary was known for her selflessness and her caring heart. She always left an impression on everyone she met. She was the best cook. She loved to cook for her family and never missed cooking Sunday dinner. She was one of a kind and will be truly missed. Mary was preceded in death by her father and mother Robert and Mary Pyle; her two brothers, Norman Pyle and Jabo Pyle; her son, Robbie Marlowe; her granddaughter, April Leopard; and her great-grandchild, Marlee Jo McCaleb. Mary is survived by her son and two daughters, Wayne Marlowe (Janet), Norma Eaves, and Jan Gann (Keith). Beloved Mammaw to 13 grandchildren – Patrick, Deana, April, Angie, Brett, Gena, Christina, Amanda, Jessica, Buddy, Stephen, Elaina, Reed; 32 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Visiattion will be on Thursday, February 4 from 1-2pm at Jefferson Memorial in Trussville. A Chapel service will follow at 2pm.
