Mary Sloan

Mary Kampis Sloan passed away on Friday, September 11,2009 at St. Martins in the Pines Nursing Home. She was born in Cullman County to Mathias and Elizabeth Kampis. She worked at McCain Manufacturing Co. (Tommy Boy Togs) and United Chair in Leeds. She was a member of Wilson Chapel United Methodist Church. She loved to cook, garden, and travel with her daughter and attend her church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earl S. Sloan; three sisters, Elizabeth Warnke, Annie Abbott and Katie Sanders; three brothers, Frank, Nick, and John Kampis. She will be missed by her daughter, Juanita Sloan; brother Matthew Kampis; niece, Teresa K. Mitchell (Jerry); nephews, Joseph Kampis (Susie), Jerry Kampis, and Lee Sanders; one great niece and 5 great nephews; also special friends Evelyn and Polly and her church family. Visitation is Saturday, September 12, 2009 from 5:00PM until 7:00PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. Services will be on Sunday, September 13, 2009 at 2:30PM at Wilson Chapel United Methodist Church. Pastor Alex Obermeder officiating. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
