Mary Merrill

Mary L. Merrill, age 88, of Hanceville, formerly of Birmingham, passed away on Jan. 20. She was a member of Northpark Baptist Church for many years. She retired as a medical secretary for John S. Whitehead, after 27 years of service. Mrs. Merrill was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh R. Merrill, Jr.; her parents, William and Henrietta Grauel; her sisters, Helen Peavy and Martha Clayton; and her brothers, William Grauel and Jack Grauel. She is survived by her children, Richard Reeves (Rebecca) and Jeannie Roddam; her grandchildren, Alison Grabowski, Kristi Zelenka, Rebecca Reeves, and Sarah Miller; her great grandchildren, Kada Grabowski, Izzie Grabowski, Abby Michelle Page, and Kylee Grace Zelenka; her brother, Ray Grauel (Renda); and many nieces, nephews and other family members. A memorial service will be held on Monday, Jan. 25, 2015, at 2pm at Jefferson Memorial in Trussville. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Susan G.
