Mary Hipps

Mary Whitney Hipps, 81 of Birmingham passed away on January 4, 2010. Mary retired from Alabama Power Company as secretary after many years of service. She was an Auburn graduate and a member of St. John's United Methodist Church. She was predeceased by her husband, John D. Hipps and her parents, G.H. and Nell Whitney. Survivors include her daughter, Julie Sandefer (David); her son, Mark Hipps (Lori); one sister, Anne Carson (Doug); grandchildren, David "Jamie" Sandefer, Kacy Sandefer, Whitney Sandefer, Heather Woodward and Ashley Vinson. Visitation will be Thursday, January 7 from 8:30 AM i�½" 10:00 AM with Services beginning at 10:00 AM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home with Pastor Andrew Dressler officiating. Burial to follow in Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. John's United Methodist Church, 356 Killough Springs Road, Birmingham AL 35215.
