Mary Heaton

Mary "Louise" Heaton, age 95, of Birmingham, passed away December 24, 2011 to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was known and loved by many. Her family and friends will miss her greatly and never forget her. The mother of five, Louise was so proud of each one and loved them dearly. She had a strong and personal relationship everyday with Jesus. Her love for him is as strong as it was for her husband Verner "Shuggy" as she called him. She spent her working years at Winn Dixie in Crestwood where she met her husband Verner, they were married for 45 years. She worked at Piztiz Department Store in Roebuck for many years as a department Manager. She spent her last working years as manager of Catherine's Stout Shop in Roebuck where she retired. She was a very independent person up to the end doing all she could for others and staying in touch with so many lifelong friends that she loved as well. She was a member of Chalkville Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Verner F. Heaton, mother Mary Walker, father Charles Walker, daughter Carolyn Woods (Cecil), and grandson Mark Woods. Services will be on Thursday Dec 29, at 2pm in the Chapel with burial in Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. Visitation will be from 1230pm until 2pm Thursday. She is survived by her daughters Myrna Burleson (Charles) Marylyn Sellers (Gene), sons Randy Heaton (Debbie), Sherman Heaton (Patricia) of Dawsonville GA, grandchildren Kim Belcher (David), Keith Sellers (Mary), Kyle Sellers, Dedra Lickert (Jason), Jason Heaton (Jami) , Janet Bethiaume (Ray), Jared Heaton (Corey), Lyn Carr (Charles), Karen McGuire (Brian), Dean Heaton (Debbie), Tony Heaton (Sue), Michael Heaton (Pia), 21 great grandchildren.
