Mary Harbison

Mary Wright Harbison, age 63 of Birmingham, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 19, 2012. Mary was preceded in death by her mother, Kathryn M. Wright and father, H.A. Wright, Jr.

Mary was born on January 17, 1949 in Gadsden, Alabama. She was a graduate of Douglas High School in 1966 and graduated from Snead State in 1968. After graduation, she moved to Birmingham, where she worked and met her future husband, David. Mary and David were married on November 24, 1971. Mary spent the next 41 years as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Mary was very involved with volunteering at her children's schools at Chalkville Elementary School and with the Hewitt-Trussville High School Band. Mary is survived by her husband, David J. Harbison, son, Jeff Harbison, daughter, Gina Harbison Steele (Seth), and granddaughter Savannah Steele, brother, Mike Wright (Sherry), several nieces and nephews and an enormous, loving extended family and Friends The funeral Service will be at 12:00pm at Jefferson Memorial Chapel in Trussville. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in Mary's name to the American Lung Association for Lung Cancer Research.
