Mary J. Bloomston, 69, died peacefully on June 19th, 2014, with her family by her side in Birmingham, AL. She was born May 30, 1945 in Albertville, AL to Mary Boothe (Mims) and Willard Mims. She was a very vibrant Lady who enjoyed spending time with her family, reading and shopping. She was a caring and giving person and anyone who came in contact with her experienced this in one way or another. Her grandchildren were her passion and delight. She was an awesome MiMi who loved sharing stories with everyone about her grandchildren. She was employed with Merle Norman Cosmetics. She was survived by her husband of 33 years, Bobby; her mother, Frances Boothe; her daughter, Darlene Whiten (Jon); her granddaughter, Christine; her son, Tim Howze (Donyja); her grandson, Adam (Amanda); her granddaughter, Courtney; her sister, Edna Goodman; her brothers, Ray Mims, Randy Mims (Marian) and Ralph Boothe; her stepsons, Marc (Robin), Scott, Joel (Janet), Barry (Alana), Brett and grandchildren; lots of extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Willard Mims. Chapel services will be held on Monday June 23, at 2pm with burial in Jefferson Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5pm until 7pm Sunday.
