A beautiful celebration of life for Marilyn Ann Riddle Cooke will be held at the Church of the Highlands Grants Mill campus chapel on Thursday April 17th at 12pm.
Marilyn Ann Riddle Cooke entered her eternal home in Heaven with Jesus on April 3rd, 2025. She is reunited with her mother Judy Riddle and Father Ray Riddle,
Marilyn was survived by her loving husband Edward Cooke with nearly 30 years of marriage, they were inseparable and loved each other dearly, and a beloved mother to her two daughters Rachel and Bobbieann Cooke who she loved very much.
Marilyn was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama, attended Huffman High School, she was a member of Church of the Highlands. She loved her savior Jesus Christ, and her family and friends.
She was a stay at home mother who took great joy in teaching and spending time with her daughters and trained them up in the love of Christ.
She often would be found at prayer walks, and a she was prayer warrior who constantly would intercede for her family, friends and the world, she was also a champion for the rights of the unborn.
Marilyn loved finding joy in the little things, like going to the beach or looking at flowers and her two favorite characters Eeyore and Donald Duck. Marilyn's favorite hobby was reading, she always had a book in her hand, she loved to read everything but mostly reading the Word of God.
She loved to sing and listen to worship music, her favorite song was "Give Thanks" by Don Moen.
She was someone you could get in touch with easily, even when her health wasn't good, she was one call away, and when you would call her, she made sure to read scripture like Psalm 91 and made sure to say a prayer and tell you "Jesus is Lord!"
She was strong willed with strong faith, she was unashamed of the Gospel and would go out of her way to share the gospel with her nurses and other strangers and would pray for them.
She modeled the love of Christ by always helping others first even when she was in need.
Now Marilyn is running and dancing with Jesus now, in the place she always dreamed about being when she was here on earth, and she is experiencing joy beyond anything we can imagine.
She will be incredibly missed by her family and friends, but we have the confidence in Christ that we will see her again in Heaven.
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
