Margaret Holcomb

Margaret Mitchell Holcomb, age 85, passed away on August 20, 2017. She was a faithful member of Lakewood Baptist Church in Birmingham, Mt. Hope Baptist Church in Crane Hill, and Community Baptist Church in Maylene. She graduated from Woodlawn High School and earned a Bachelor's Degree from Southeastern Bible College. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Rozelle Mitchell; and her husband, Lamar C. Holcomb. She is survived by her daughters, Laura Holcomb Grills (Mickey) and Lisa R. Sims (Tim); her brothers, Jim Mitchell and Jack Mitchell; her grandchildren, Eric Sims (Rachel) and Taylor S. Sims; and her great-grandson, Elijah Holcomb Sims. A visitation will be held on Wednesday night from 5-7pm at Jefferson Memorial in Trussville. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 24, at 10am in the Chapel at Jefferson Memorial, with interment to follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens.In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Alabama Baptist Children's Homes.
