Margaret Estes Allen, age 87, of Trussville, was born May 16, 1924 in Waverly, Tennessee. She passed away peacefully November 5, 2011. Margaret was a founding principle in Allen Iron Works. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a member of Trussville First Baptist Church and a former member of Roebuck Park Baptist Church for many years. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, E.H. "Roy" Allen, in 1994. Survivors include daughters Patricia Strickland (Larry), Jan Smith (Lamar), Sherry Riendeau (Don), Laura Schneider and Ann Allen; her sister, Patsy Coble of Florence; six grandchildren: Shane Sisk, Jennifer Sisk Bearden (Toby), Scott Smith (Diana), Marla Smith Hayden (Jason), Brad Riendeau and Tracey Riendeau; seven great grandchildren, Kylee Sisk, Breck and Pierce Hayden, Brody and Callie Bearden, and Julian and Cameron Panesso; and a host of nieces and nephews. Honoring Margaret Allen as pallbearers are Shane Sisk, Scott Smith, Brad Riendeau, Toby Bearden and Jason Hayden. Honorary pallbearers are Larry Strickland, Lamar Smith and Don Riendeau. Visitation will be Monday, November 7, 2011 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. Chapel services will be Tuesday, November 8 at 1:00 PM at the funeral home with Bobby Erwin officiating the Celebration of Margaret Allen's life. Burial will follow in Jefferson Memorial Gardens.
