Manford "Andy" R. Phillips, 77, of Leeds, passed away on November 28, 2017. Mr. Phillips was a member of Parkway Christian Fellowship. He was employed in the transportation industry for over 50 years with Deaton Truck Lines and Buddy Moore Trucking. He was a member of the Birmingham Traffic and Transportation Club, the Motor Trucking Club, and the Alabama Truckers Association. As Director of Operations and Vice President in the trucking industry he received several awards for his many years of service and dedication to the profession. He honorably served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Korea. Mr. Phillips is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Joyce Phillips. Two sons, David Phillips (Valinda) and Scottie Phillips (Keven). Three grandchildren, Tyler Phillips (Caitlin), Ashley Phillips, and Austin Phillips and one great-grandchild Adalynn Phillips. Brother and Sister in law Jimmy and Regenia Walker, niece Terry Walker, and nephews James Walker and Aaron Phillips. Mr. Phillips is preceded in death by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Carl Phillips, his brothers Bobby, Danny, and Evert Phillips. A funeral service will be held at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home in Trussville on Sunday, Dec 3, at 3pm with Reverend Benny Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends from 1pm to 3pm on Sunday. Burial will be at Jefferson Memorial Gardens.
