Mable Smith

Mable A. Smith was born in Cullman County, AL to Mr. and Mrs. Pete Alexander on April 30, 1923. She was a native of Hanceville, AL and passed away at age 96, at her home in Birmingham, AL on August 30, 2019. Mable was a devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed cooking and gardening. She retired from Tarrant Board of Education after several years of service. Mable was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Foy E. Smith; her son, Terry N. Smith; her sisters, Eula Johnson, Wynell Coffman, Ilean Hayes and Frances Elkins; her brothers, Luster, John, Herbert and Hobert Alexander, and one grandchild, Allen Collins. Mable is survived by her daughter, Janet S. Collins; her grandchildren, Susan Collins, Gerald Collins and Jeff Collins; two great grandsons, Andrew and Nicholas Collins and a host of nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held for Mable on Wednesday, September 4th at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East in Trussville at 1:00 p.m. Her grandson, Jeff Collins will be officiating.
