Lynn Williamson

Lynn Douglas Williamson "Wilie," 76, of Tarrant, Alabama went to be with the Lord on May 21, 2024. He was retired from CSX railroad and a long time member of Ruck Methodist Church. Lynn was a Marine in India Company, 3rd Battalion, 9th Marines that served in Vietnam. Lyn was so proud of the Marines and loved his fellow Marine buddies. Semper Fi!!

Lynn was born in Birmingham, Alabama on July 14, 1947 and graduated from Tarrant High School in 1966. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Carla, of Tarrant, his parents J.B. and Lois Williamson, Sr. and brother J.B. Williamson, Jr.

He is survived by his daughter, Kristi (Mike) Dudley of Trussville, son Brent of Tarrant; grandchildren, Abbie Grace and Andrew Barber of Trussville; brother, Dale (Linda) Williamson of Trussville, and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his "other" daughter, Lori Ozley who was at his bedside when he passed. Lynn loved his grandchildren more than anything. He loved spending his time at O'Rear Hardware in Tarrant where you could find him every morning drinking coffee.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm. There will be a Chapel service at 2:00 pm with Bro. Sam Frazier officiating.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to UAB Cardiology Department, Dr. Sasha Still and especially to the wonderful staff in the ER and MICU at the VA Hospital for taking such great care of Lynn these past two months.
