Lucien Clay Bomar II, 77, went to his Heavenly home on Wednesday, October 9, 2024. He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. Born on August 29, 1947 and raised in Birmingham, AL, Lucien raised his family in the Atlanta area. He married his wife Marsha in 2000, and they resided in Duluth, GA.
As a graduate of Georgia Tech with a Bachelors and Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering, Lucien had more than 25 years of experience in Microwave and Radar System design/management and held 3 patents for his work before transitioning to the IT Management field supporting Microsoft system technology.
Lucien's favorite pastime as a young man was playing golf, and he rarely missed the opportunity to watch a PGA tournament. He played baseball in his youth and always enjoyed watching the Braves. He loved his family and enjoyed every opportunity to spend time with those he loved.
Lucien is survived by his wife, Marsha Bomar of Duluth, GA, sister Martha Whitson, children Tara Bomar, Heath Bomar (Jacqueline), and Adam Bomar (Elizabeth), grandchildren Wesley Bomar, Luke Bomar and Alexandria Bomar, step-children Charles Anderson (Aubrey), Ross Anderson (Kate), and Alexis Anderson Travis (Terran) - step-grandchildren Anderson Travis and Tristan Travis.
Lucien is preceded in death by his parents Lucien Bomar, Sr. and Frances Bell Bomar
The funeral service and burial will be held on Monday, October 14, at 2:00 pm at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Trussville, AL with visitation at 1:30 pm.
A celebration of life service will be held in Duluth, GA later this month.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
