Louie Edward Massey of Odenville, AL
"Jesus, savior God above please protect the ones I love until they come to Heaven to you above. Thank you God for the 87 years that we had to spend with a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather." On September 29, 2012 Ed left this life to be with the mother of his children, Lois Nichols Massey; parents, William and Tomera Massey; sisters, Irene (Roy) Baucum and Annie Lou (John) McPherson; brothers, Etheridge (Ruth) Massey, and Barney (Frances) Massey. He left his memories with his son, Donald (Connie); Massey daughter, Jan (Ken) Deason; grandchildren, Heather Payne of Cullman, Matthew (Stephanie) Deason of Springville, Mark (Jennifer) Deason of Odenville, Melissa Whitmire of Pinson; and 9 great grandchildren; current wife, Lavon J. Massey; sister-in-law, Evelyn Perrin; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was a former member of 85th Street Baptist and present member of Brewster Road Alliance. He was a WWII U.S. Army Veteran with a Bronze star with cluster and Purple Heart. Ed was a lifelong member of the VFW Post Downtown. He retired from U.S. Steel (TCI) after 36 years. Services will be held on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at 12:00pm at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home with visitation starting at 10:30am. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Sean Payne Fund at People's Bank in Cullman in care of Heather Payne, 811 2nd Avenue Southwest Cullman, AL 35055.
