Lola Self

Lola Mae Self "Doll", age 85. She was born on April 1, 1929 and she passed away on Friday, March 6, 2015. She was a lifelong resident of Chalkville and was a member of Taylor Memorial United Methodist Church for 72 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jake and her parents, Amzi Allen Calhoun and Bessie Pearl Jones Calhoun. She is survived by her three sons, Ronnie (Ricki), William (Terri) and Sandy (Gina) all of Clay; 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; brother, Jimmy (Faye) of Pinson; sisters, Betty Bass of Clay and Patricia Greene (David) of Trussville; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Visitation will be on Monday March 9, 2015 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. Services will begin at 2:00 PM at Jefferson Memorial. The burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
