Linda Ramsey

Mrs. Linda Marie (Dodson) Ramsey peacefully passed away near her home in Center Point, Alabama on October 2, 2011. Linda was born on October 8, 1939 in Chattanooga, Tennessee but resided in the Birmingham area most of her life. She was predeceased by her parents Nolen and Wilburth Dodson and son, Barry Ramsey. She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Billy Ramsey; son Scott Ramsey (Carol); daughter, Angela Acton (Shayne); grandchildren Autumn and Hunter Acton, Christina Windham (Frederick), Robin Giardina (Jacob); great grandchildren Caleb Quinsey and Olivia Grace Windham; one sister, Barbara Doss (George); two brothers, Floyd Dodson (Darlyne) and Larry Dodson. Linda graduated from Phillips High School. She held a wide array of positions with different companies from Clow Corporation to Sunnyland Foods. She devoted the majority of her time to raising her family and was fully active in their lives. Whether shuttling to football, baseball or dance team practice, or scurrying about UAB's Town and Gown Theater to get them to rehearsals on time, she devoted her energy to their success. She attended all the kids' functions regardless of the weather, temperature, day or night. Linda was always there to see them succeed. She also enjoyed travel, theater, music, literature and classic movies. She had a lifelong love for animals and her current "companions" (not pets) Phantom and Casper. Funeral services will be held Wednesday October 5, 2011 at 12:00 P.M. at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home and Gardens, 1591 Gadsden Highway Birmingham, AL. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service. Internment will follow at Jefferson Memorial Cemetery. Rev. Dr. Mark Lacey will officiate.
