Linda Gail Brown Brand, age 77, passed peacefully at home after a courageously fought battle with cancer. Linda was born at home in Cropwell, Alabama on February 23, 1948 to Eugene Sumpter Brown and Mary Hazel Nixon Brown. Linda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Wayne Brand and sister, Wanda Jean Martin. She is survived by her brother, Gary Eugene Brown (Suellen deceased), Hazel Lavonne Brown, Ricky Dean Brown (Angie) and Samuel Wade Brown (Patsy); her children, Lisa Bagley (Rusty), Chuck Brand (Kelley Jo) and Debbie Wolfe (Mark); her grandchildren, Kayla Blankenship (Jonathan), Brittany Otts, Andrew Wolfe (Natalie), Charley Ann Brand and Sophia Bagley; her great grandchildren, Lennon Wolfe, Mason Blankenship, Stevie Grace Dodgen, Bowen Dodgen, Judge Wolfe and Bentleigh Blankenship arriving in September; also, many nieces and nephews who adored their Aunt Linda.
Throughout her life Linda was known for her timeless and elegant beauty. She perpetually enjoyed strangers mistaking she and Lisa as sisters.
She radiated that flawless beauty until her last breath.
Those fortunate enough to meet and spend time with or closely know Linda quickly learned that her outer lovliness was no match for the beautiful spirt and heart she possessed. Her smile and laughter could fill up the largest of rooms with joy. She made simple and priceless wit as only she could do. Linda made everyone feel welcomed and special. She nourished the hurting with love and an attentive ear. She provided for families and individuals in need. Linda was a soft place to land in a sometimes hard world for her family and friends.
Many families share the achievements, accolades and successes at the end of a loved one life , Linda, of course, had her share of those. As her family what is most important to us, is that the reader know Linda was a loving and compassionate daughter, a precious and protective sister, a beloved and cherished wife, a selfless and exceptional mother, a fun loving grandmother and the dearest of friend. By all means, she was not perfect. But she was perfect to those who had the honor of knowing and being loved by her. Most importantly, she faced and accepted her passing with the deepest of peace and assurance of journey to her Heavenly Father and home.
Let all that you do be done in love.
