Linda Carol Cummings

Linda was born February 25th, 1946 in Honolulu Hawaii to Jimmy and Evelyn Dunford. She was raised in Center Point, Alabama where she graduated from Hewitt Trussville High School.

She married Burtis Cummings on August 19th, 1962 and they were blessed with 2 children, Lance Daryl and Chaundra Lane. They moved to Florida, but ultimately ended up in Texas in 1977. Linda loved living in Texas, but always enjoyed going back to Alabama to visit her family and friends.

Linda worked as the Secretary to the Board of Director’s at Scott and White for many years. She became President and CEO of Tex Blast Sandblasting in 2005. A company her husband started in the 70’s.

Linda was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling with friends. Her favorite vacation spot was Cancun, Mexico. Linda loved Jesus and was always telling everyone to make sure and say their travel prayer.

Linda is survived by her husband, Burtis Dee Cummings, her daughter Chaundra (Charlie) Mitchan, her 8 grandchildren Madeline, Carley, Macey, and Carter Cummings and Bayley (Bryant) Marwitz, Abigale (Lane) Isaacs, Josh and Bella Mitchan. One great-granddaughter. Lilliah Renee Marwitz. Linda is survived by many, many other family and friends that she loved so much.

She was preceded in death by her son, Lance Daryl Cummings, her sister Janice North, and her parents.

Linda is in Heaven surrounded by her many loved ones and we find comfort knowing she is fully healed and surrounded with her family.

Visitation will be Tuesday, July 30, 2024 from 5:00-8:00 PM at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home in Temple. Funeral services will be on Friday, August 2, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home and Gardens in Birmingham, Alabama. Burial will follow in the Jefferson Memorial Gardens.
