Lillian Bates

Lillian Christian Bates, precious mother, and grandmother (“MawMaw”) passed away Monday, May 2nd at age 95. She was a member of Metropolitan Church of God. She retired from Hancock Fabrics.

Services will be at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Trussville, Al on Monday, May 9th. Visitation at 1PM, funeral at 2PM.

She was preceded in death by her parents Jim and Delana Godwin and all 12 of her sisters and brothers. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, C.L Christian; her son, Andy Christian and her beloved 2nd husband of 6 years, Raymond L Bates.

She leaves to cherish her memory 3 daughters, Diane Christian, Glenda McKinney (Carl), Barbara Phillips (Richard), and son, Smokey/Randy Christian (Cindy.)

Twelve grandchildren: Pam Dunn, Charlie Cantavespre, Don Williams (Rachel), Christi Waldrop (Scott), Mandy Ponder (Paul), Shaye Morgan, Lori Planson (Scott), Kaylee Gad (Ayman), Ashley Couts (Joey), Trey Helms (Jen), Alex Christian, and Kari Christian.

Sixteen great-grandchildren: Sydney, Robin, Madison, Regan, Shams, Nour, Zac, Jenna, Larry, Emma, Mohammed, Brock, Kareem, Maggie, Omar, & Ford.
